Generally emails that come to your account are stored on the hard disk of the server. If you leave all the mails on the server, than you need to buy a lot of space just for email storage and depending you the volume of mails you receive, in couple of months it may grow to many thousand MB (Mega Bytes).

We recommend you use a POP client to fetch all the mail you get to your personal computer. A POP client connects to you server and gets all the mail from the server to your local machine.
